

Among the many variations in yarns is thickness. For easier classification of yarns according to thickness, eight standard categories have been defined, which can be identified by a symbol (a ball of yarn with a number, as shown on Rosários 4 yarn labels) or a designation.
It may seem confusing, so we have prepared a table with this information, along with the average yardage for each thickness, the recommended needles, and the number of stitches/10 cm (average values, for reference).
