How many balls of yarn do I need to knit a sweater? And for a baby blanket?
These are undoubtedly some of the questions we are asked most often. And to answer these and other questions, we are now providing, with the collaboration of Filipa Carneiro, calculations showing how many meters (or balls) you will need to knit not only sweaters and coats, but also accessories: hats, scarves, and baby blankets (100x90cm).
There are two tables, with information on the number of meters of yarn per thickness for each size (of sweater or cardigan) or accessory. It will come in handy, right? 🙂
What should you always keep in mind?
It is important to remember that these values are guidelines and may vary depending on the stitch and techniques used. For example, twisted stitches or brioche consume more yarn, which may change the amount of yarn needed. If you are thinking of making adjustments to the pattern, such as increasing the height of the piece, also consider these changes as they may significantly increase the amount of yarn needed.
What about the yarns suggested in this document? 🙂
To help you choose your yarns, we have some suggestions for each category of Rosários 4 yarns that you can use in your projects. These suggestions are organized by Fall/Winter yarns and Spring/Summer yarns + Kids Collection – but please note: there are many more Rosários 4 yarns available in addition to those listed here.
