From the traditional fisherman’s sweaters, this design kept several characteristics, such as the vertical front neckline, the waistband with zigzag stitch and garter stitch, and the traditional embroidery.

In this reinterpretation, the model was adjusted, thus becoming more feminine, and the embroidery became more delicate – not only in terms of design, but also in the colors used.

THE EMBROIDERY

Sea and fishing-inspired embroidery is one of the characteristics of traditional Poveira sweaters and are also present in this new pattern – but with a new approach. Because it is a women’s sweater, embroidery has been simplified – both in form and quantity – presenting a main embroidery on the front and two other details on the cuffs. One of the elements present here is the heart, widely used in the Poveira sweaters.

Hand embroidering on knit fabric
Here Filipa Carneiro shows how to hand embroider on knit fabric:

MATERIAL

What you need to knit this sweater

YARN
10 (12, 13) Capuccino Rosaries 4, color 13 (50g / 95m) – main color.
1 ball Capuccino Rosarios4, color 3 (50g / 95m).
1 ball Capuccino Rosaries 4, color 11 (50g / 95m).

NEEDLES
Circular needle # 5.

NOTIONS
1 auxiliary needle (for 3 needle needles), knit markers, tape measure, tapestry needle, waste wool and knitting pins.

SIZES
S, M, L.

Design – Filipa Carneiro (Nionoi – Filipa Carneiro).

POVEIRA – A DESIGN INSPIRED BY POVEIRA SWEATERS Feminine and very comfortable, the Capuccino sweater…

[369

post-8741","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-patterns
["GET
